"August 29- Ran 1.5 miles at Heidecke Lake, it was cool. Had to stop twice as my pace was too quick and it was wearing on me. I needed to recover a bit. It was a good run though." · View

April 30- Short run on this day, wasn’t feeling motivated. I had started smoking, I don’t know why, but I quit again
and hope through the grace of GOD, I will never start again. It is a very addictive habit.

Ok, since my last run on April 6 I’ve done JACK. I ran once out here for 3 miles and once in Arizona with my brother
-in- law for an intense 2.5 miler with the sun directly overhead and not prepared for most of a p90x workout in the
middle of it. Brutal! Anyway, I’ve been on vaction for 2 weeks and haven’t done much, but I’m back now and am ramping
it up to see how far I can go.

April 6- Ran a mile cause of time constraints, but plan on a 4 miler tomorrow in Wilmington. I over-dressed today
and it made me almost pass-out. It is time to start dressing lighter.

April 2- Ran 3 miles at Heidecke Lake, it went well as i’m beginning to feel more relaxed and my runs are becoming enjoyable.

Put on the 20lbs weight vest and mowed the lawn, it took 1:08. My heart-rate monitor said I burned 1100 calories, but
I doubt it. Anyway it was great, I will continue mowing my grass like that from now on.

The 3 miles at Heidecke Lake went well, had to walk some of it, but at least I’m feeling like a runner again. Presently
looking for a 5k to boost motivation, then a 10k after that and finally in the fall I’ll run a Half-Marathon somewhere.

March 27- Ran a nice mile today just needed something to take the edge off and open the lungs. Plan on a 3 miler
at the Heidecke Lake access on Jugtown Rd. tomorrow. It should be nice!

Cyndi, thanks for joining, I read your entry and agree and embrace the ”Baby step” philosophy. Sorry about your bad knees, but you seem to have the right attitude and drive to succeed. Just do your best and forget the rest! -Tony Horton, P90X creator

In reply to - Cyndi posted an update: Ok not a runner – bad knees – but am getting on the treadmill most evenings and walking in circles (or ovals) through the tunnels at the office. Baby steps. · View

March 24- Chris and I went to the I & M canal in morris. He wanted to run 7 miles, I said I’d be happy with 2. We started at 0720 and before we hit the first mile marker he was already 400 M ahead of me. That’s fine I thought, it isn’t a race, I just need to keep it slow and steady. By the 2nd mile he was out of sight and my legs were yelling a me to stop; so I did for a little. I turned around at the 2 mile marker and knew I had to keep pushing to build endurance so I ran most of the 3rd mile, but walked most of the 4th. All in all it was better than expected. I think one of the reasons is the conditioning the day before and didn’t pass the house every mile. Chris ended up running 6 miles. :)

March 23- Ran a mile with Brandon, he’s five now and wanted to run with his daddy. Cute huh?
After that I put on the weight vest and ran 4X200M with it on, 60 second rest in between. I was baked. My legs were fried and breathing was wide open with minimal wheezing.

March 17- Squeezing miles where ever I can, before work, at night, on days off, in my dreams. Guess those don’t count huh? Just ran another mile after shopping with the family.

March 15- Well my mile is getting easier and a tad bit more enjoyable as I notice some improvement. My feet want to go twice as fast as my cardio will allow. There is a direct correlation between my weight, my mileage and my asthma. I need to get balanced again, drop weight, add miles and then the asthma will take care of itself.

Hey mike, I like what you’ve done with the site! Can you give me any insight as to whom all these people are. I think it is
    great!

I agree, it is time to get serious! Up ’til now I’ve been merely happy with simply running a predetermined distance
and finishing. Now I want to take it up a knotch. I am setting up a half-marathon plan now and will race one this year!

March 14- It is getting beautiful outside and I’m taking full advantage. I’m trying to run the way I did last year
, 3 days a week, sprints, intervals and a long run. I love this program and it is endorsed by most of running experts
    .

March 12- another slow mile, hoping it will get easier and more enjoyable with consistency. I am grateful for the spring-time and look forward to running as much as possible now.

March 10- ran a mile outside, it was all work. Reminded me how much I lost this winter. I will bounce back though,

Going to post for the rest of Feburary, worked out and ran once or twice a week. It wasn’t enough though as I gained 10 lbs and dropped in miles.
It is March now and it is getting nicer out, I can only hope to rebuild what I seem to lose every year.

Ran on the mill the first day, then couldn’t stand it inside any longer and went for a cool mile outside. Felt tons better, the temp was 30 degrees.

Warm up 5 min, ran mile and cool down 5 minutes. My cold is totally gone and I feel normal again. Now I need to build consistency.
