Michael Here… I’m in Illinois taking care of sick family and it’s 3:50 at night. Unfortunately, I can’t sleep. So, I decided to put on lots of new features in from the BuddyPress package. This will give us the opportunity to extend our little site to new members with much less effort than a typical site would require. Let’s call it an experiment. New features include a “wire” such as that in Facebook and Group Creation. Since I’m super tired, I’m leaving some features disabled because they are not working quite right. The BuddyPress theme is new for this version of WordPress and I’ll have to continue working on it as time goes one.

1. First thing: I need a new Header file! The one I created a long time ago is not the right size and it just looks bad.

2. The Activity Wire needs tweaking, it’s not displaying properly.

3. The “Friends” with other members doesn’t seem to be working and I’ll fix that, though it may have to be with another version.

4. Let’s play with this for a bit and see what happens. If I receive a direct email from Dave, I’ll disable the theme and revert back to the old version.

5. Note: The method of putting up new posts HAS NOT CHANGED. Log in as usual and post a blog. Please remember to add a category to your blog post for future navigation capabilities.

Alright dude! RUN ON!

I haven’t done a lot since the 22nd and I don’t regret it. I enjoyed the holiday and didn’t over-eat too much. I did eat healthy for most of my seven day vacation. (Dec. 22 to Dec. 29) I want to run today or go to the gym tomorrow. I have no fear of running in the winter anymore and will not use it as an excuse to remain lazy. I want to add for my New Year’s resolution that I will start to train differently this year. I am planning to run on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays or Saturdays. It will break down like this: short fast runs on Mondays, like sprints and repeats. Mid-ranged runs on Wednesdays, like 3-5 milers and on Fridays or Saturdays I’ll do long runs, 6 to 13.6 miles. I want to do a half marathon this year. My goal for this year was met by doing a 10k, 6.2 miles several times through out the running season. I never officially entered a 10k race, but I ran a 10k distance that was timed and I’m happy with that. I believe my fastest time was 63 minutes on May 19. Hope 2008 was good to you and that 2009 is even better!

First, I’ve been playing ball lately and it feels good. The St. Paddy’s day race is coming up and I need to play & run much more. But, a funny:

Abby hasn’t been happy with her hairdresser because the woman keeps goofing up. I don’t notice but I must take her word for it.

Today, Abby went back there to get things fixed, again. I had a bad day, again. She called me while at the hairdresser and the conversation went something like this:
Her: “Hey, do you want me to get you anything for dinner?”
Me: “I don’t know, when are you coming home?”
Her: “Oh, about an hour… wait. ‘When do you think I’ll leave’ (in the back ground mumble), I should leave in 30 minutes”.
Me: “Hon, don’t make her hurry up, she’ll fuck it up again.”

pause

pause

’sigh’

Her: “You’re on speaker…”
