So, back in the saddle. MB2.0 is starting to work out. My shot is improving (12 points in 2 games of 15) and I’m getting more lift. Dunking isn’t in my immediate future but perhaps more rebounds count for something. On the downside, it takes a couple of minutes to get warmed up. Getting warmed up means missing the rim by about 4 feet and quite literally giving the ball away for nothing.

That just frakking hurt. I dropped by the Y today to get some time in on the court and I slammed in the throat by a boulder of a shoulder. Cheap shot, blindside leaning pick. F*** I could barely breathe for 15 minutes and I’m gonna be lucky to slurp down my ramen noodles through a straw.

What really pisses me off is the normal court high jinx. I’ll notice a guy going to the middle, I’ll forget for a second that a belly built over 15 years is slowing the mover down, I’ll fire the pass away and the guy stops outside the lane. Then I get blamed for the bad pass. It’s time to join a league because the pick up games are getting me down.

On the plus side, I did continue my MB2.0 project. After the game I hit the leg weights. I actually forgot how much fun the training is. Next phase of MB2.0: getting back on the running path…

I started using my bowflex today. It’s a bear to get started with the weights again. Maybe I should watch the DVDs again. The reason for it is simple: I am having difficulties playing with the big guys. My passes are off, my shot is as bad as highschool, and I’m not able to grab the boards. So, I gotta be MB2.0.

Ran on the mill the first day, then couldn’t stand it inside any longer and went for a cool mile outside. Felt tons better, the temp was 30 degrees.

Warm up 5 min, ran mile and cool down 5 minutes. My cold is totally gone and I feel normal again. Now I need to build consistency.

I hate excuses as most of them are a sign of weakness or an inability to do what we originally set out to do.  During these dates I’ve been sick with acute bronchitis /chest cold.  I tried to run on the mill but stopped within a mile, it was just BRUTAL! So I’m feeling better now [...]

Rock on. I’ve been hitting the court myself lately. The word “Ripper” just doesn’t sound appealing to me right now so I’m taking it easy :)

Michael Here… I’m in Illinois taking care of sick family and it’s 3:50 at night. Unfortunately, I can’t sleep. So, I decided to put on lots of new features in from the BuddyPress package. This will give us the opportunity to extend our little site to new members with much less [...]
