October 1
Another quick mile, nothing special. After 10 days off (with no good excuse), I realize that it had a negative affect on my performance and motivation. I will try to do more miles with greater consistency in the future.

Fast one mile, didn’t have time for more. Started in 3rd gear and had a strong finish.
Long, slow 6 .2 miles by my house. I was bored and unmotivated, had to turn on the tv in my head and zone awhile and talk myself out of stopping about 5 times. I was finished at 5 miles, but glad I finished the 6.
4.5 miles in 46:14, had to drain the vein once and most of the landscape was flooded from hurricane Ike, we’ve had almost 5 consecutive days of rain so it was a sight. I mowed my grass 7 days prior to the rain and then the rain hit. ( you don’t worry about your grass until you are responsible to keep the length of it in check).
My diet has been total crap and as I get a year older, I realize I gotta change that.
Right now, Hurricane Ike is about to take us out but I’m determined to get a run in on Sunday.
I can barely drive 5 miles let alone run. Good job Dave!
4.5 miles in Wilmington in 47.50. I am really frustrated at my inconsistency, it seems I only have time and energy for one run a week and the best I can muster is 5 miles. I want to do more, I need to do more. I have eaten loads of pasta in the past week and with just one run on the 1st it is no surprise that I gained a few pounds.
4 miles in Coal City, light traffic, nice day and no problems. Not timed
4 miles in Wilmington, not timed, had to water the grass and my run was more comfortable.
Awesome run today, beautiful temperature, not too humid and best of all I ran 4 miles in 38:16! My best time yet on that 4 mile course in Gardner. What concerns me is I didn’t stretch out, not even a little bit and I haven’t eaten anything since 2330 the previous day. My reward is a blister on my toe!!
HIIT Day, one mile warm-up then 5 sets of 100m sprints, 50 jumping jacks, 100 skips with the rope. I don’t like jumping jacks so much, it was hard on the ankles so I substituted my last two sets for plyometrics. I jumped over a toy lawn mower that belongs to my son. It worked out great and was easier on my ankle. I felt some dull, pulling pain when I was doing jumping jacks and was afraid I was going to pull/tear a tendon.
